Treasure the Moments Memory Canvas - Maureen

Some moments are meant to be treasured and preserved in a special way and that was Maureen's idea when she created this memory canvas! This photo of her grandparents and her father, circa 1949, means so much she felt she had to do something special with it - and that she did!

Maureen created this piece on an embroidery hoop that she painted white with gesso and attached to decorative cardstock to create a "canvas". For a peekaboo effect, she split a brick-patterned sheet & overlayed it on a beautiful deep blue floral paper. She added some texture using Finnabair Paper Paste through a vintage script stencil by Kaisercraft (one of her favorites, might we add!).

Before starting to build it up, Maureen added some Lindy's Magicals in Bavarian Blue to add the deep blue that peeks out from behind the focal area.

Our Budding Flourish chipboard, split in two and heat embossed in white, helps to frame the focal point of this beautiful, old photo and our Lavender Pieces, left raw, add some extra interest. Flowers, scrap brick outlines and white microbeads complete this simple, but precious, canvas in such an elegant way.

Maureen finished this piece off with the Moments sentiment from our Life Moments set, embossed using sapphire and white powders.

We love the simple and elegant look of this project! Do you ever turn your photos into art layouts?
