One of our favorite things about chipboard is the variety of things you can do with it. Usually our customers and designers use our pieces to embellish a layout or piece of mixed media art, but sometimes they make the chipboard the work of art itself!
Maureen had us custom-cut the word "create" in this bouncy font for an inspirational wooden sign she wanted to piece together. She wanted the background to be simple and distressed, but really wanted that chipboard to pop.
After priming the chipboard with white acrylic gesso, the chipboard word was gently colored using alcohol blending markers in teal and edged in black to create depth. Next, Maureen used a script stamp with black Archival ink to add interest and texture.
To finish it off this piece was double heat embossed with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE) and adhered to the background using gel medium. As you'll see in the background, our circle clusters {heat embossed in Nuvo Turquoise embossing powder} add the perfect touch to this simple, creative sign.
