No beauty shines brighter than a good heart - Maureen

We love the romantic feel of these vintage-y, shabby mixed media tags Maureen created. Beautiful on their own, but more impactful together, they remind us that there is no beauty like a good heart full of love.

To create these tags, Maureen created a double-layered base featuring papers in her background from Prima Marketing's beautiful Poetic Rose collection and built her pieces up coordinating that soft, romantic feel.

In these tags you will find that Maureen used Leafy Flourish Set 2, Flourish Bits, as well as portions of our Courner Flourish 2, which she cut apart to use on both tags. "When I feel the need to use a chipboard piece, I love to alter it to bring balance to the project," she says. "Scrapaholics pieces are so sturdy, it is no problem to cut them however you want and tuck the pieces here and there for a totally new and unique look."

She also used one of her favorites, Blossoms, and "love", a piece  she had customized by us in a collection of words she uses regularly. To decorate the blossoms and several of the flourishes, Maureen colored them using Distress Inks in Victorian velvet before heat embossing with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. For other flourishes and her "love" sentiment, she simply heat embossed in a white powder to add light and soften the piece up.

Other embellishments include some twine, a mechanical butterflies by Finnabair, paper flowers by 49 + Market, as well as texture paste through a stencil and microbeads for added texture and interest.
